Speaking of Nick Mancuso, I had the fine opportunity to meet with him on the set of The Wrong Mr. Johnson in Prague. Being of Bohemian descent, I had an instant affinity to the Kafka-esque mysteries enshrouding the city. We had a great time with our new friend, Lucie Vondrackova, a multi-talented musician and actress. She dazzled us with a great perfomance which moved me even though I can’t understand a lick of Czech. Apparently there is no correlation between bohemian ancestry and Czech linguistic abilities. However, there does seem to be a strange natural ability to drink beer long into a strange ethereal Prague evening.
Here is a a nice synopsis of the rise of an Americana fashion classic (Shott) that is well worth reading about. As the Levi rivet represents the sweat, tears and dreams of Gold diggers, the Perfecto label is a staple among freedom riders and flyers alike, who embody the American spirit on the street and in the field. Mach or Mph, Shott represents speed and individualism as an ideal, and an unintended fashion statement. Ironically, Perfecto was launched just two years after the mono-made Model-T hit critical mass in 1915 in NYC and eventually became an iconic fashion requisite among American idols from James Dean to Brando. Is the leather motorcycle jacket making a come back? Polos and iZods (aka Lacoste) come and go, but the Perfecto will always stand the test of time (except for its price).
Love him or hate him, it’s hard to deny his talent. Kanye samples Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” in this second single. And if this song is any indication, the upcoming album Graduation is sure to be a hit. The video is a refreshing alternative to the bling, butts, and Bentley’s we’re accustomed to seeing in the hip-hop industry. See for yourself – check it out here.
Nick Mancuso stars in this chilling 2 part horror saga. Your favorite blogger also has an excellent role. I give my eternal thanks to Spencer Jay Kim for casting me in this most excellent situation, which will become readily apparant to the viewer upon the release. Precinct 13 is currently touching up the effects in between Hostel cuts and Tarantino convulsions. Yes, the Next Wave is surfing hard with this forthcoming gem.
5.0: NeXT was a computer company created by Steve Jobs in the late 1980s. Never name a company after something Senor Jobs creates no matter what industry. Just kidding. Get going and stop thinking. Sometimes you don’t know, so choose to be bold!
4.0: Travel the world and enjoy nuance and difference. Conformity is ironic and boring.
3.0: Reinvention is more important than success! Experiment and ask questions (i.e. What’s Next?). Churn!
2.0: Have fun and take a risk. Yes, you only live once.
1.0: Stop taking yourself so damn seriously. Just do you and don’t worry about what others think!

We are psyched about the Vintage Nike display that will be installed at 10am on July 20th (for you crazy vintage fans who want to come check it out) at our Next Beachwood. Classic 1970′s wood paneling with nostalgic memorabilia to boot, this wall is a tribute to how far Nike has come and the quirkiness of vintage fashion. Oh, 40 year old Virgin not included.
