Lebron Event: Shoe Allocations

Once again, Next would like to thank all those people who came out to support the event. Especially those people who endured the cold and camped out the night before the event.  I understand that there is some disappointment that not all 100 units were available at the time of the release. Unfortunately, Nike had a last minute request for 16 units(4 sets) of shoes that they had to remove from our allocation. It was not something that had been planned, nor was it something that we at Next could control. I understand that some of you were not able to get a shoe because of this, and for that we apologize. Again, it was not something that we at Next could control.
Despite that, we hope everyone had an enjoyable time.

Lebron Block Party

Well there is a ton of video of the event, thanks to Jay our “flip video mad man,” but I thought I would share some old fashioned pics. All in all it was a great time, and I think everybody had a lot of fun. There were lots of activities, from “Play Station” to “DJ lessons” to a “Marching Band” It was nice to see so many young kids there having fun. Oh, there were some shoes there too…
Here are some faces in the crowd.

Okay, this actually happened before the break in. What the heck was so important behind those doors and why on Earth would the keys not work? Turns out someone hung three coats on the backside handle which created a permanent stop preventing Steve (Next Shoe Buyer) from being able to jimmy the knob off. Yes, I was the idea man behind kicking it down as it turns out. Again, excellent job Paul. Well done…

Okay, we had a great turnout today with people traveling from all over, including Michigan and Pennsylvania. Here is “G” or Gene (not exactly sure of the name) and his buddies from Carnegie Mellon who also camped out over night for the event. Owner of Next Robert Rosenthal is also captured and ready to kick some Steeler butt (or is he?). Did LeBron Foot Soldier Brian and Matt mix it up with the these Steel City dwellers? Well, as it turns out one of the troopers was really slamming Steel city so I think they all got along. Come on, is it really that bad in Pittsburgh? Ouch!

What the heck is this? What’s behind these doors that Paul (Next employee) needs to break it down. Not sure we will ever find out, but this Law Enforcement kick down expertise is second only to the great 70′s TV series S.W.A.T. Maybe that is what inspired my man Paul. Ouch, Rick (Next General Manager) is going to be, err, ugh, pissed. Check it out.

Check out sneakerhead campers Brian and Matt get the LeBron VIs and action figures. Are these guys stoked or what? There was a little confusion, but they seemed to get things straight on their part (buying the goods). Thanks again guys for being such troopers! Also a little exchange with Cory about Jimi Hendrix and, oh, that fist slam with Damon kinda sucked. Ouch.

More coming soon, including a break in. Stay tuned :-)

Check out this walk through on the day of the event and compare to the night before. It filled up as planned and felt like the iPhone launch on July 11th, but far more entertaining. Oh, get a glimpse of LeBron’s VIP room and the break in (Can’t wait to share that).

LeBron VI Launch Party – Part 1

Check out Brian and Matt who camped out from 8PM last night to be the first inline to get their LeBron VI kicks and action figures. These guys are serious sneakerheads to say the least. You can catch them in a post later on breaking in (not really, but we did have a break in to share). Thanks guys!

LeBron VI Launch: Behind the Scenes #2

Here we go with the low down on how things are going to go down for tomorrow’s LeBron VI launch.  Adrian from Next Randal walks us trough the store, the goods and the LeBron action figures (in action).  Get a glimpse of the soon-to-be VIP room and Adrian’s secret fetish.  Okay, the VIP room is in the works.  Watch all evolve right here and see you all tomorrow.

LeBron VI Launch: Behind the Scenes #1.2

Here we go.  People are already lining up for the fiesta.  Taken from a mobile device on scene, here are two dudes waiting to get their hands on the latest LeBron VI drops.  Are they security?  Are they the Intelligenstia?  Are they the DJs? No – they are pure sneaker geeks ready to tumble for LeBron Action figures and kicks. Yeah!

LeBron VI Launch: Behind the Scenes #1

Check it out.  We are gearing up for a landmark launch of the new LeBron VI.  As we mentioned earlier, there are only 6 (six) stores in the world privileged to be apart of this iconic event, and Next is one of them.  We are here to give you backstage passes to the build up to tomorrow’s event.  This first video is of Damon Haley (AKA Dreams & Hopes Baby) from Urban Marketing Corporation of America who is onsite on behalf of Nike to make sure things run smoothly.  Question.  Is the King, LeBron James himself going to be in attendance?  Check out the video and find out.  More coming soon…

I just got back from our Randall location, and saw the “Lebron’s” set. They arrived yesterday. The shoes look great in person. There are also some other “goodies” there for the event on Sunday. Should be a good time. See you there. Don’t be late!
