Ok, now it’s a good thing to be fair-trade, environmentally friendly, and forward thinking when it comes to doing business… but this seems a little overboard. Cool Hunting is reporting on fashion designer Alexandra Guerrero, who’s company Mantis purifies cigarette butts (she collects them from the streets), then combines them with wool to form a raw, textured wool, which can be knit into a variety of garments.
Is this cool to you? Would you ever wear it? As for me, No thanks. I’ll stick to clothes made from cotton and other traditional textiles… the thought of clothes made of cigarettes is a look too disgusting for me to rock. I think she only makes womens garments anyways so it doesn’t really make a difference.
If you’re waiting for Next to start carrying stuff like this… don’t hold your breath.
