Here’s some video I shot earlier this month of the Talib Kweli Dare 2 Dream Charity concert. Talib and DJ Hi-Tek are linking back up for a Reflection Eternal 2 album, so be on the lookout for that soon!
First up is a real gem from the New Orleans Hot Spitta, Curren$y. This joint dropped along with his album This Ain’t No Mixtape and is probably the best song off it. Trippy synths set the pace to float away into the clouds.
Finally is an +8 minute electronic/hip-hop opus by Born Ruffians remixed by Four Tet. The song builds from a simple chopped key riff and some vocal melodies and evolves into sonic awesomeness. And, the remix sounds nothing like the original. Give it a listen.
The Play Cloths Summer collection, based on the exploits of water-faring socialites, is full of pieces that will keep you looking cool even if you’re sweating balls in front of a barbecue grill or under interrogation lamps at the police station. Via Play Cloths Blog
Hit the jump for Malice of the Clipse recent vlog where you can see him wearing some new pieces….
