Native is inspired by the classic casual silhouettes, but made with the lightest and most comfortable material available. It’s the best of both worlds: footwear for the future done in the style of everything we’ve ever loved about shoe design.
“Our aesthetic is relaxed, flexible and active- footwear for anybody, anywhere, any time.”HIGH TECHNOLOGY: Native shoes are made from 100% EVA, an environmentally amphibious material that allows each pair to be ultra-comfortable and all-terrain. This unique material molds to your feet, is antimicrobial and odor-resistant: a perfect combination of tech, comfort and utility.
The Jefferson – The shoe defines itself as an instant classic, bold and edgy. The Jefferson is the perfect mix between good taste and subtle rebellion.”
Aloe Blacc is an artist I’ve blogged about before, and his new single is the theme song to the new HBO show “How to Make it in America“. His last album is a slept on R&B classic in my eyes, and this new record is produced with all live instrumentation by a group known as the El Michaels Affair (you may remember them from the orchestral Wu-Tang covers they put out). This rip is from the show’s mixtape, but you can check the full version here. Judging by this track, another classic is in the wings!
This past week Rob, Steve, Ahryn and I traveled to Las Vegas for the Magic, S.L.A.T.E, Project, Capsule and Workroom trade shows. This is where we hunt down the clothes and shoes that keep you coming back for more.
Overall, the show was very productive for us. From the hard work we put in at the trade shows, to the relationships we continue to build with all of our brands. We want to keep on bringing Cleveland the best street/contemporary men’s and women’s clothing and shoes.
Honestly, we have some great products coming for all of you this fall. Throughout the rest of this week, I will have some sneak previews of certain lines. Including 10 Deep, Orisue, and Mik Cire. Both 10 Deep and Orisue have progressively grown as clothing brands. They both have some exciting concepts lined up for Fall 2010. Mike Cire, could be a new brand for us, and may appear to be to a bit forward, but part of Next’s philosophy is to push some of the fashion boundaries in Cleveland. I can’t wait to hear what you, our customers, think about our product previews. Nothing is more important to us than our customer’s honest opinions, so don’t be shy.
Cleveland sends Zydrunas Ilgauskas and his expiring $11.5 million contract to Washington. Washington also gets a 2010 first-round draft pick from Cleveland along with the rights to Emir Preldzic, who was selected in the second round of last year’s draft.
The Wizards receive Al Thornton from the Clippers, with L.A. getting forward Drew Gooden, whom Washington acquired in last week’s trade with Dallas.
Besides Jamison, Cleveland will also acquire Clippers guard Sebastian Telfair. I believe this a great deal for Cleveland, do you?

Next Coventry just received a new shipment of Vans. Whether you need a pair to skate in, or you just like the way they look they won’t stay on our shelves long. Also, if you do skate please explain to me how this little kid, in the video below, is so good. I feel like it shouldn’t be physically possible for someone that small to be that good.
Cameron puts on a must see show with dunks, fancy ball handling skills, and averaging 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assist per game. With help from #32 guard Derek Jackson and #10 forward Nick Harney I believe they will beat Akron’s former Irish Lebron James high school team St. Vincent-St. Mary. Any bets?

Orisue is a great line because of it’s versatility. We have carried Orisue for a couple of years now, and they have yet to disappoint me. Orisue’s founder Michael Huynh created the line with inspirations from the subcultures of hip-hop, skate, and art. I think Orisue appeals to all people in those subcultures. So, job well done Michael. Next Coventry and Next Beachwood both have the latest from Orisue.
For all the ladies that love color on their nails here is one of OPI’s newest collections called Alice in Wonderland. They are releasing this collection in conjunction with the new Alice in Wonderland Movie by Tim Burton. There are four new colors in this collection. They are Thanks to Muchness, Absolutely Alice, Mad as a Hatter, and Off with Her Red. My personal favorite is Absolutely Alice. Check out the trailer for the movie below:
