Explanation from Adam: I feel like a large part of style is having a personal philosophy that guides you when you get dressed, or add to your wardrobe. Style is not just liking what you wear, but also, understanding why you like what you wear, and understanding that the clothes you wear can reflect the kind of person you are, or mood you are in.

So, as a new series for Ruleofnext I am going to be asking our customers: Why do you wear what you wear?

Why I wear what I wear: Nick’s answer

“I mainly wear what I wear for myself. I like to keep things new. I feel like accessories really set you apart. So, I accessorize with Jewlery and Tattoos. I get my tattoos courtesy of Jimmy Haden at Focus tattoos, they show my personality. The Dee & Ricky cigarette LEGO piece is another piece I use to set myself apart.”

“The Nike shoes, are Stefan Janoski’s, I got them from a local skateshop to show my skating roots.”

More dopeness from Erykah Badu. She’s in a lane all her own. Her new album New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh is out today. I’ve heard it and its definitely nice, though a little more smooth and down tempo than part one. Peep the provocative video for the single, “Window Seat” below.

Gone off that Rossi!

Contrary to popular belief, I do have a real job beside blogging and hanging out on Coventry, I help run the wine department at Trader Joes. I have tried hundreds and hundreds of wine, but one we do not sell is Carlo Rossi. For a wine that has been around for over fifty years it’s really hitting its stride this year in Cleveland, for example, it has been featured in Fly.Unions video Poed Up video.

A salesman from day one, Charles “Carlo” Rossi started working for E&J Gallo Winery in 1953 alongside family friend Ernest Gallo. Two years later, Carlo Rossi’s Red Mountain wines were introduced and quickly became one of the winery’s top sellers.

His simple, straightforward approach to wine was reflected in these commercials, where he was known to coin memorable “Carlo-isms,” including the now famous “I like to talk about wine, but I’d rather drink it.”

This is my favorite track off the album, featuring Little Dragon frontwoman Yukimi Nagano. You can also catch Little Dragon playing Wednesday at the Grog Shop. Tickets only $12!

Ant-Event

Not having money to shop, will be no excuse at our official launch party for Women’s Apparel at our Northfield location. We are giving it away. If that doesn’t relax your mind, De’Franco will be on hand “pampering” all in attendance. If that doesn’t excite you, DJ Steph Floss will also be in attendance making sure his mixing adds to this event’s environment. What more could you ask for? Seriously.

Why I wear what I wear: Dylan’s answer

“Well, my mother dresses me. She is into the hipster style like Matt Pierre Bonitati. She is down with crazy styles of today’s society. In my opinion I am dressed like a fool and shouldn’t be allowed out of the cage I sleep in. If it was up to me I would wear Burberry Speedos and mesh tank-tops everyday.”
