Darren Anthony recently performed at Next during last weekend’s “He’s the Blogger, I’m the DJ” event, and here we have his newest mixtape entitled “The Rebirth of Fresh”. Make sure you support local music, the kid has talent.
Jamie Lidell is a blue-eyed soul crooner who’s been around for a little while now. The guys over at Brigade were big fans of his last album Jim, and played it all the time. Compass is his newest release, and while it’s stylistically a lot more experimental, it provides an interesting listen. “She Needs Me” is one gem off the album, so take a listen above and hear for yourself.

Another nice Saturday night event with some in-store performances by local artists, hosted by Steph Floss and Jameel of Eighty81. Make sure you come through 7-10PM for performances from Darren Anthony, 6S, and Tae 4rm da 50. It will be a great networking event and everyone will receive $20 their purchase. Whether you like it or not, robots are coming. These two are highly advanced flying and walking robots designed at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Southern California, respectively. Not that we’ll be using these at Next anytime soon, but I thought they were pretty cool. A couple more interesting and creepy bots after the jump.
