Cleveland is full of ethnic groups and ethnic neighborhoods. One historically known section of the city is Little Italy on the East side. It is a part of town full of Italian-owned businesses including restaurants, bakeries, and other various shops. Little Italy was established in 1885 when large groups of Italian immigrants came to Cleveland to work. Like many ethnic groups at the time, this Italian community stayed in the area and began to establish businesses of their own. Still today, this neighborhood holds a nostalgic charm. The street is full of flags and pride for the culture. I spent the day in Little Italy yesterday and snapped these great shots. I also snagged myself a delicious eclair from Corbo’s Bakery. Italian desserts will definitely give you a feeling of La Dolce Vita.

Usher’s OMG Tour is stopping in Cleveland on Thursday and I realized that I needed something to wear to the concert. I took a hidden track from Usher’s album “Here I Stand” and decided to make a shirt for the show. Can you guess the name of the track? haha.
Cleveland artist, George Vlosich, is famous for using a childhood toy to create intricate works of art. He creates detailed pictures with careful turns of the knobs of an Etch-a-Sketch.
In honor of this Friday’s Royal Wedding, Vlosich has created a picture of Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton. Word of this impressive work of art has made it as far as London’s Daily Mail and other publications in the UK. The picture, which was created in three weeks, was a composite of about 25 photographs of the famous couple.

BIG BANG BIG BOOM – the new wall-painted animation by BLU
Another brilliant stop-motion street art animation by artist BLU. This is probably BLU’s best work so far in my opinion, in that this one is cyclical and has a sense of plot and message, rather than just the random transformations of his previous projects. Check it out and see for yourself.

Name Tagging with Martha Cooper
Hypebeast recently caught up with the queen documentarian of street art, Martha Cooper, about her new book Name Tagging. The book is out on Mark Batty Publishing and focuses on the “smallest kind of graffiti” – that of the name tag.

A Colorado artist named Jason Kay recently pulled this art prank, commonly known as “shopdropping”, at his local supermarket. Kay relabled numerous bottles of Gatorade with a parody of Tiger Woods and the words ‘Unfaithful’. Check the clip above and read what happened to Kay here.
ESPO is a legendary graffiti artist who now goes by his government name, Steve Powers. For his most recent “A Love Letter For You” project, ESPO collaborated with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program to create a series of murals viewable from public transportation. Essentially they are an extended poem that tell a love story, envisioned by ESPO as a guy trying to get a girl’s attention on the train by using graffiti/painting as his way to communicate. I’ve attached some more images after the jump, but a full presentation on the project and ESPO is below.
