Pictured above is the Spring 2010 drop from the Ransom and Adidas footwear collaboration. I like both companies separately, and I think the collaboration continues to produce high quality casual footwear. These styles have just landed at Next Coventry and Next Beachwood.
Dave from SneakerBible hit us up about his new site launching that is essentially a Wikipedia for sneakers. They’re encouraging users to write pages on the history of different shoes for a chance to win $500 towards a pair of kicks. The winner will be selected at random on March 23, but the more pages you create in the meantime the greater your chances of winning. The site seems like a good idea and fashion resource if the guys can monitor the historical accuracy of all the entries. The site is pretty bare (clean slate) as of now, so there are some prime shoes waiting for a description.
Next Under launched today with three great items significantly discounted to Under $100. To be apart of these weekly, 12-hour only sales, register for our email list. Otherwise, you miss out on some of the best deals we can offer! Send an email to Adam@ruleofnext.com for more information.
Y-3 is a division of Adidas created by Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto. Y-3 is the perfect mix between Yamamoto’s edgy designs and Adidas sportswear sensibility. The shoe pictured above is the Hayworth II Mid. It fuses Yamamoto’s creative design aesthetics and the silhouette of a basketball sneaker. Y-3 is a luxury brand. All of their products are made with the best quality materials and highest design aesthetic. If you decide to get a pair they will change your perspective on sneaker quality.
Over the next few months Adidas will be releasing 3 augmented reality games that 5 new Adidas sneakers will serve as a key to unlock the game and as a controller. Sounds crazy right? But it’s true. The technology is just beginning to spring up this year, but basically your computer’s webcam reacts in real time to a design embedded on the tongue of the shoe, enabling you to explore a 3D world similar to a video game. No images of the shoes themselves, but the accompanying technology seems pretty interesting.
