Dave from SneakerBible hit us up about his new site launching that is essentially a Wikipedia for sneakers. They’re encouraging users to write pages on the history of different shoes for a chance to win $500 towards a pair of kicks. The winner will be selected at random on March 23, but the more pages you create in the meantime the greater your chances of winning. The site seems like a good idea and fashion resource if the guys can monitor the historical accuracy of all the entries. The site is pretty bare (clean slate) as of now, so there are some prime shoes waiting for a description.

Anybody that knows me, knows I love shoes. A few of my recent pick ups are the Nike Air Max 95 retros and the Jordan VIs retros. I have never been a big fan of basketball ball shoes with the exception of the LeBrons, because well they’re LeBrons- until now. The Nike Zoom Kobe V is without a doubt my favorite pick up of the year so far. It is not often to you see a low top basketball shoe. They fit great and are super light plus they come is large selection of colors. I got them in the “Chaos” colorway that is inspired by one of Kobe’s favorite characters: The Joker from Batman. This Kobe V features a multi-colored upper consisting of foil-like side panels, a lime green swoosh, red/black shoelaces, aand purple accents. It is also finished with a lime outsole and a white/red speckled midsole. Look for the uber rare ALL STAR version only at NEXT.

Once again NIKE has opened its vault to re-release the Air Max 95. Designed by Sergio Lozano in 1995, the Air Max 95 has become one of the most loved sneakers that Nike has ever produced.
Stated many times before, the inspiration for the shoe is the human anatomy. The mid sole represents the spine, graduated panels resemble muscles, lace loops are the ribs, and the mesh is the skin. At the time of its release many were skeptical of the Air Max 95 because of the price, yet it was never a factor. The Air Max 95 was the first sneaker by Nike to feature the Air Max cushioning system in both the heel and forefoot, it has been re-issued many times, and released in over 150 different colorways. Look for these in the coming months at NEXT…

As part of Holiday 2009 Collection, Nike has released a take on a classic duck boot, called the Woodside. The boot comes with a brown leather upper, black ankle padding and dark green rubber toe cap, or in a black and gray colorway. Check these out at Next Coventry now.

To celebrate Halloween in 2009, Nike has taken inspiration from the Looney Tunes cartoon character Gossamer. Nike has translated the character on a pair of kicks that are composed of orange pony hair, which covers the upper and midsole. The Swoosh and the heel tab are composed of off-white canvas and the upper sits on a gum out sole. The kicks also feature minimal red accents on the heel reading “Savage Beast†and “Nike†on the lace clip.

These new Halloween inspired Nike Premium ACG X Rays have landed right in time for the scariest of holidays. The black on black features a patent leather upper with an X-ray foot design. Nike logo is in white on the back panel… you can pick these bad boys up at Next NOW.
